Guests using Disney buses at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will have a new pickup and drop-off point beginning Monday, July 13. The load zone is between the Rarotonga building and the guest parking lot, just steps from the Great Ceremonial House.

The move lines up with a permanent road change at the resort entrance. That makes this more than a new sign or shelter: returning guests may need to adjust both their walking route and the way they approach the Polynesian by car.

Where the New Polynesian Bus Stop Is

A notice sent to resort guests places the new stop between Rarotonga and the guest parking lot. It is closer to the Great Ceremonial House than the previous bus location and may slightly shorten the walk for guests coming from the west side of the resort, including Island Tower.

Forty years of resort familiarity will not help much on the first morning if a family walks toward the old stop by habit. Follow temporary signs and ask a Front Desk Cast Member if the route is unclear.

The Road Change Happening the Same Day

The Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way intersection is also scheduled to close permanently July 13. Seven Seas Drive will dead-end at the Polynesian’s main guest entrance instead of continuing through to Floridian Way.

Disney has sent revised driving directions to affected guests. Anyone arriving by rental car, rideshare, or private vehicle should use current navigation and resort signage instead of relying on a route remembered from a previous trip.

What This Changes for a Resort Day

The new stop affects Walt Disney World bus service. The resort’s monorail and watercraft connections are separate, so guests should still choose transportation based on destination, operating status, weather, and mobility needs.

Build a few extra minutes into the first bus trip after the move. Once everyone knows the new walking route, the closer lobby location may make departures simpler for many rooms.

What Guests Should Check

  • Confirm the bus stop location after check-in.
  • Use current directions for vehicle arrivals.
  • Allow extra time on July 13.
  • Check live transportation availability before leaving.

Will the new bus stop make your Polynesian stay easier, or is monorail access still your main transportation priority? Let us know in the comments below; we would love to hear your plans.
