Disney Removes the Tropical Americas 2027 Date From One Page
The Tropical Americas card in Disney World’s current coming-soon section now describes the 11-acre land and names its three attractions without giving an opening year. Earlier copy on that page said guests would journey to the land in 2027.
WDWNT and BlogMickey documented the wording change. Disney has not issued a news release saying the project is delayed, canceled, or moved to 2028. Headlines that turn a removed web-page date into a confirmed cancellation go beyond the evidence.
Is Tropical Americas Still Opening at Animal Kingdom in 2027?
For now, 2027 remains the latest official target. Disney Parks Blog’s official Tropical Americas project update still says the new experiences begin opening in 2027. Work is visibly underway across the former DinoLand U.S.A. site.
The wording matters: “begin opening” leaves room for a phased debut, and Disney has not published attraction-by-attraction opening dates. It is reasonable to watch for a schedule clarification, but it is not responsible to promise that every part opens together—or to declare a delay Disney has not announced.
Confirmed Tropical Americas Attractions at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto: a family attraction entering the Casita and Antonio’s rainforest room.
- Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent: a new adventure replacing DINOSAUR’s ride system and setting.
- El Carrusel de los Animalitos: a carousel with hand-carved animals inspired by Disney and Pixar stories.
The village will also include dining and play elements. Attraction names and story details are clearer than they were in Disney’s older summary, even though the current coming-soon card is less specific about timing. What the Tropical Americas Timeline Means for 2027 Trips
Do not book a nonrefundable 2027 vacation around a specific Tropical Americas opening date yet. Disney has not provided one. A late-year trip may improve the odds if the target holds, but that is still an inference—not a guarantee.
Plan Animal Kingdom around attractions that are operating when you book, then treat Tropical Americas as a possible addition until Disney publishes a firm date. Watch for an official calendar listing, attraction pages with operating hours, previews, and reservation or queue instructions. Those signals will be more meaningful than one line appearing or disappearing from a promotional page.
What Disney Still Needs to Clarify
Disney has not said whether all three attractions open together, whether the land will use a phased rollout, which season of 2027 is targeted, or why the year was removed from the current page. Until an official update resolves those points, 2027 remains a target rather than a trip-planning promise.
