Guests visiting Walt Disney World on Friday, July 10, should treat the afternoon heat as a planning problem, not just an uncomfortable forecast. A Heat Advisory covers the Disney World area through 8 p.m., when the heat index may reach 110°F.

The alert does not close the parks or change Disney’s posted operating plans. It does mean that long outdoor stretches, crowded queues, and a rushed park-hopping schedule can become harder on children, older adults, and anyone sensitive to heat.

What Today’s Heat Advisory Covers

The National Weather Service lists Orange and Osceola counties under the advisory from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT on July 10. Those counties include Walt Disney World and its four theme parks.

The forecast calls for heat index values as high as 110°F. The National Weather Service warns that the combination of heat and humidity can cause heat illness and recommends drinking fluids, staying out of direct sun, wearing loose clothing, and moving strenuous activity to the morning or evening when possible.

How to Adjust a Disney World Park Day

  1. Use the morning for outdoor priorities. Save indoor shows, longer meals, and air-conditioned attractions for the hottest part of the afternoon.
  2. Drink before you feel thirsty. Build water stops into the day instead of waiting until someone in the group feels worn down.
  3. Cut unnecessary park crossings. Work through one land at a time. A walk from one side of EPCOT or Magic Kingdom to the other adds heat exposure without adding much value.
  4. Watch for symptoms. Dizziness, nausea, headache, confusion, or unusually heavy sweating are reasons to stop, cool down, and seek help. Heat stroke is an emergency.

What Has Not Changed

Disney has not announced a resort-wide closure or special operating restriction tied to the advisory. The useful takeaway is to pace the day differently, protect the midday hours, and be willing to drop a low-priority stop if the heat is draining the group.
