Magic Kingdom’s upcoming Villains Land finally has ride concepts attached to it: a Maleficent coaster and a Magic Mirror dark ride. Disney has also named the area simply Villains Land. The exciting part is that these are real creative details, not rumors; the planning caution is that Disney still has not announced an opening date.
What is confirmed: Villains Land is coming to Magic Kingdom with two major attractions, dining, and shopping. Disney described a Maleficent-themed coaster and a Magic Mirror dark ride, but has not announced a construction schedule or opening date.

A Corrupted Wishing Well Sets the Story
Disney says the new land begins in a dark forest shaped by a wishing well that was corrupted by an evil wish. Villains arrive to claim the remaining power and build lairs around it. Disney compared the project’s scale to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, while saying the look will draw on its own “conjured architecture” rather than copy an existing Magic Kingdom land.
Two Headline Attractions, Two Very Different Experiences
The coaster sends guests through enchanted briar around Maleficent’s mountain fortress. Disney says it will use elements the company has not previously attempted on similar attractions, but has not named the ride system, height requirement, or whether it will be indoor, outdoor, or both.
The second major attraction is a dark ride led by the Magic Mirror. Its story begins beneath the Evil Queen’s palace, then moves guests into a Mirror Realm populated by multiple villains through physical sets and special effects. That makes it a distinct ride concept, not merely a meet-and-greet or stage show.
What This Means for Magic Kingdom Plans
These details make Villains Land a major future Magic Kingdom draw, but they do not yet change a 2026 itinerary. Disney has not announced an opening year, exact location, downtime, attraction access rules, or the full list of restaurants and shops.
