The Play Disney Parks app is scheduled to shut down on September 16, 2026, ending the Star Wars: Datapad, queue games, trivia, and digital achievement collection at Walt Disney World.
This does not mean My Disney Experience is closing. Guests will still use Disney’s primary app for tickets, wait times, dining, hotel tools, Lightning Lane, and park navigation.

Play Disney Parks Features Ending at Disney World
WDW News Today reports that the app will leave app stores and stop accepting logins September 16. That removes the Star Wars: Datapad in Galaxy’s Edge, attraction queue games, Disney trivia, and access to collected digital achievements.
Disney’s still-live Play Disney Parks FAQ identifies Toy Story Mania games, DuckTales World Showcase Adventure, Star Wars: Datapad, trivia, and the Disney Fab 50 Quest as app features. The FAQ had not yet been replaced with a detailed shutdown page when this article was prepared.
MagicBand+ and My Disney Experience Still Work
Physical MagicBand+ interactions—including the Fab 50 statues—are expected to continue. The non-app portion of Batuu Bounty Hunters also remains, but the phone-based app component ends.
The official My Disney Experience page still lists park tickets, attraction waits, dining, hotel entry, transportation, and Lightning Lane tools. Keep that app installed for normal trip operations.
Save Play Disney Parks Achievements Before Shutdown
If the achievements matter to you, open the app and take screenshots before September 16. The reported shutdown removes future login access, and Disney has not announced an export or migration tool.
What Happens to DuckTales World Showcase Adventure?
DuckTales World Showcase Adventure is already unavailable during refurbishment, and Disney reportedly had no update to share about its future. Do not assume it will move into My Disney Experience unless Disney announces a replacement.
