Late-August Disney World nights will start a little earlier. Happily Ever After moves to 9:30 p.m. at Magic Kingdom, while Fantasmic shifts to 8:30 p.m. at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The changes are only 30 minutes, but they can affect dinner reservations, park hopping, and whether a second Fantasmic show fits your plan. The times below are the currently published schedule and should be checked again in My Disney Experience on your visit day.

Happily Ever After Moves to 9:30 p.m. August 31

Magic Kingdom currently lists Happily Ever After at 10 p.m. Beginning August 31, the fireworks and projection show moves to 9:30 p.m. through at least September 19.

That earlier start makes a late table-service dinner harder to combine with a good viewing spot. If the show is a priority, finish dinner well before 9 p.m. and allow time for crowds around the hub and Main Street, U.S.A.

Happily Ever After does not perform on Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights. Opening night and five other 2026 parties are already unavailable, as detailed in our Halloween Party sellout update. A regular Magic Kingdom ticket does not include the party’s event-only fireworks.

Fantasmic Starts Earlier August 23

Fantasmic continues at 9 p.m. through August 22, with 10:30 p.m. second performances on Fridays and select Saturdays. From August 23, the first show moves to 8:30 p.m. every night currently listed.

Second shows are scheduled for 10 p.m. on Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays. Beginning September 18, those second performances move to 9:30 p.m.

First Show or Second Show?

  • Choose the first show if your group has young children, an early next morning, or no interest in staying through park close.
  • Choose the second show if it is offered and you want to use the early evening for rides or dinner.
  • Do not assume two shows on every night; the current second-show pattern is limited to Fridays, Sundays, and Tuesdays after August 23.

How the Earlier Times Change Park Hopping

Trying to see both shows on one night remains a poor plan. Travel time, security, park entrances, and post-show crowds leave little margin even when the published times appear separated.

Pick one nighttime show per evening. If you park-hop, arrive at the destination park before dinner rather than treating the show as a last-minute stop.

Recheck the Schedule on Your Visit Day

Disney can adjust showtimes, add a second Fantasmic performance, or cancel outdoor entertainment for weather. Use the official Happily Ever After page, the official Fantasmic page, and My Disney Experience before locking in dinner or transportation.

Which earlier showtime changes your evening more: 9:30 p.m. fireworks at Magic Kingdom or 8:30 p.m. Fantasmic? Let us know in the comments below; we would love to hear how you are planning your night.
