Quick answer: build a heat plan before arrival
- Schedule at least one air-conditioned attraction or indoor break during the hottest part of the afternoon.
- Carry water and take regular drink breaks; our water-fountain guide lists historical refill locations that should be rechecked on the day.
- Use the Disney World weather guide and Magic Kingdom planning guide to build a route with shade, indoor attractions, and nearby refreshments.
- Leave outdoor queues or long walks for the morning and evening whenever your schedule allows.

Take a Swashbuckling Ride!
“Yo ho, Yo ho!” is a pirate’s life for you? It is when the temperature outside is extremely hot! This time-honored indoor attraction in Adventureland is a fantastic way to beat the heat on hot days.
The line is orderly, there is adequate lighting, and there is climate control… and moves at a fairly quick pace. After that, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in an exciting adventure alongside the lovable Captain Jack Sparrow, and if you’re lucky, you might even get wet from the initial “drop.”
One of my favorite ways to cool off is to sail the high seas, cool off, and settle in for an entertaining adventure.
Relax in a 3D Musical Spectacular!
A relaxing atmosphere with low lighting, a plush chair, and climate control are provided. When you are at Magic Kingdom, making a stop at this 3-D adventure that lasts for 12 minutes is the best way to reenergize and cool off.
