Disney has just announced that soon, guests of EPCOT will have access to a brand-new dining location that will provide them with stunning views of the fireworks.
New Restaurant
Foodies are aware that EPCOT is one of the top places to go to sample a wide variety of cuisines from around the world. This restaurant with table service will provide you with a celebratory dining experience in the Izakaya-style of sharing plates so that you can create memories and have a good time through the flavors.
You’ll be able to get a real feel for the spirit of Japan’s seasonal celebrations right here, where a new event will be brought to your table on a monthly basis. A cultural ambassador from Japan will walk you through each one of the distinctive celebrations, one bite at a time, from the Tanabata festival in July, in which participants hang tanzaku to celebrate the coming of summer, to the moon-viewing dumplings in September.
Sushi Bar and Grill
When patrons sit at the sushi bar, they get a front-row seat to watch the chefs prepare sushi right in front of their very eyes. This is an incredible experience for sushi fans. This one-of-a-kind establishment offers a dining experience that simply cannot be missed, along with a magnificent trellis that was modeled after the roof of the Phoenix Hall in Kyoto. The trellis will mesmerize your eyes while the food will captivate your taste buds.
LOVERS OF SUSHI WILL BE AMAZED AT THE OPPORTUNITY TO WATCH SUSHI BEING CREATED RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEIR VERY EYES BY THE CHEFS AT THE RESTAURANT.
Now that we’re talking about our taste buds, let’s take a look at some of the dishes that are going to be served at Shiki-Sai.
Menu Highlights
The Kobore Sushi, the Tokyo Negi Roll, the Funamori, and The Monster Roll are just a few of the standout items available at the sushi bar.
The name “Kobore Sushi” literally means “overflowing sushi,” and this dish truly does have an abundance of flavor.
This dish is exquisite thanks to the combination of negi toro and nakaochi tuna with salmon roe and green onion. The Tokyo Negi Roll is a delightful roll that you simply have to try. It consists of green onion tempura rolled with tuna tataki and topped with jalapeno aoli, shredded carrot, and sliced jalapenos.
Sashimi and sushi are served on a platter in the shape of a boat as part of the Funamori dish. This particular rendition of Funamori is even served with the festive pomp and boat procession of the world-famous Tenjin Matsuri!
You will also have the opportunity to sample dishes from the delectable world of Japanese Izakaya, which is a style of casual restaurant similar to a pub. Izakaya culture places a strong emphasis on the practice of sharing plates of food with one’s companions while one indulges in alcoholic beverages and engages in social conversation. Izakayas are known to offer a diverse selection of appetizers and small plates on their menus, and this establishment is no exception.
Izakaya cuisine is distinguished by its focus on providing a variety of delectable small plates that can be indulged in within a social and unhurried environment. These dishes can range from the savory Karaage Chicken to the succulent Salmon Misoyaki, as well as the revitalizing Tomato Salad with Avocado.
The Okonomiyaki that you can enjoy grilled is definitely one of the highlights. The batter for this Japanese savory pancake is made with flour, eggs, and water. Once the pancake is cooked, it is stuffed with shredded cabbage and bacon, and then it is topped with a tangy okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, aonori, bonito flakes, and pickled ginger.
Location and Opening Date
This brand-new dining establishment is going to be found in the Tokyo dining location. This location is presently unavailable while it undergoes renovation.
On the second floor of the Tokyo dining location at EPCOT’s Japan, SHIKI-SAI: SUSHI opens this summer.
In addition to an extensive menu that features tantalizing Japanese delicacies such as sushi and teppan items, there will be an open sushi bar and grill at this establishment. The Shiki-Sai restaurant, which can be found on the second floor of the Japan pavilion, provides guests with breathtaking views of EPCOT, the World Showcase Lagoon, and, of course, fireworks!
