Get ready for some stormy surprises at Walt Disney World’s Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana! Brace yourselves, because this self-guided nature trail is not afraid to throw in the towel when Mother Nature decides to make a big splash. Yes, you heard that right – even a little hint of bad weather, and this walkthrough experience is out like a light!

Recently, during the Annual Passholder Preview, storm clouds loomed over this paradise-inspired attraction, forcing it to close faster than you can say “Hei Hei”. It turns out that the Cast Members have to seek shelter indoors whenever there’s lightning around. We can’t blame them for wanting to be on the safe side – no one wants to end up as a human lightning rod.

But wait, there’s more! This walkthrough attraction is not just threatened by stormy weather, it also has a literal gate! Yes, a gate that has yet to reveal its true purpose. Is it there to keep out curious sea monsters? Or to protect guests from wandering off into the unknown? We may never know, but it adds to the intrigue and mystery of this magical experience.

The operating procedure might change once the attraction opens to all guests on October 16th. So, you might want to pack your raincoat and goofy-looking rain boots, just in case. Safety first, adventurers!
