We have a surprising update!
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Refurbishment
The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, which takes riders in a “stretch limo” from 0 to 60 in a matter of seconds, is a popular attraction.
The legendary rock group Aerosmith is finishing up a recording session inside their Hollywood music studio. The band asks you to ride along when their manager informs them they’re running late for a concert across town.
Aerosmith’s hard-rock harmonies fill the air as you step into their gleaming limousine and take off into the night. Before cruising through the city on this roller coaster-style attraction, fasten your seatbelt. As you pass famous Hollywood sites, accelerate. As the wind whips across your face, maneuver around traffic jams and swoop into three exhilarating inversions—2 rollover loops and one corkscrew.
Refurbishment
We announced that Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would start a refurbishment back in December. The start of this was supposed to be on February 20, but there was a brief delay.
A precise reopening date was not provided by Disney. However, it is anticipated that the closure will last through the summer of 2023.

Surprise Update
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster reportedly reopened. Disney did not provide a specific opening date, but “summer 2023” is a pretty broad window.
However, before you dash there, you might want to slow down! The refurbishment notice on the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster webpage has not been removed by Disney. Additionally, the attraction listed on My Disney Experience still has no wait times.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster opened for Guests this evening, May 26.
This could very well be a soft reopening. It’s entirely possible that the attraction won’t be open if you plan to stay over the weekend. Keep an eye on wait times (if they appear) and ask cast members any questions you may have.
